Storm Ingrid: Finistère, Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine remain placed in orange vigilance for floods or heavy rains....See more👇👇👇

While the North-West of France is suffering the full impact of the storm Ingrid, three departments are still on orange alert due to very heavy rains in “a delicate hydrological context”.

After the storm Goretti, it’s Ingrid’s turn to make his own! The ninth storm has hit the French coast since the beginning of the fall season, Ingrid has nothing to envy to his predecessors: in any case, this is what Météo-France implied, this Saturday, January 24, 2026, during its most recent bulletin. Indeed, the institution of weather forecasts has maintained on the Morbihan and the Ille-et-Vilaine its orange vigilance for floods, on Finistère the orange vigilance for floods and rain-floods, intouding the inhabitants of these regions that important rainy passages were still to be expected. Bad news in the face of the “delicate hydrological context” already recorded in these departments.

Since the beginning of the Ingrid depression, Météo-France has recorded a “significant rainy episode” that brings with it equally important cumulations. According to the organization, in the last 12 hours, a cumulation of 15 to 20 mm was noted on Finistère, up to 30 mm locally, which is added to the cumulations of previous days. Data that may continue to climb in the next few hours while cumulations of 15 to 25 mm are still expected by this afternoon. Faced with “saturated soils”, Météo-France then asks residents of areas still affected by the storm to remain vigilant, at least until mid-afternoon. More information is to be expected.

End of orange vigilance for snow and ice

In addition to having lifted the orange vigilance for waves and submersion for the Morbihan and Finistère, specified our colleagues of Franceinfo on Friday, January 23, 2026, Météo-France also put an end to another of its alerts, this time concerning the Alps. The snow episode of the Ingrid storm, described as “short but quite intense”, seems to have indeed ended, because with regard to the Alpine departments of Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie, the orange alert for snow and ice was raised this Saturday. The alert was given at the end of the evening, Friday, January 23, before being shortened.

The orange rain-flood alert soon raised

Finally, in the face of the recorded weather data, Météo-France forecasts for the time being to maintain Sunday, January 25, 2026 its orange vigilance for floods on Finistère, Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine, raising in the process its alert for rain-flood. It remains to be seen whether the reality will follow these predictions.
